I just don’t understand why or how the Valar can be so cruel. I understand the idea of punishment, but it isn’t just you who is hurt by their “tough love.” Everything would be so much easier if we were all together again.

I had to keep some kind of hope alive. If I hadn’t, there’s no doubt in my mind that I would have ended up in the same place you did.
I went searching for an artwork that would take my mind off the cruel depiction of my favorite grandson in agony, and lo! I see this adorable piece titled “Look, father, the lights!” Yes indeed, Fëanáro was quite inquisitive! Even during his baths he would not stop asking me questions. Why, he almost wore me out enough to wish to join Miriel!
